Brisbane ready if NBA comes calling for Harrison

"We don’t want to see him go, but if that’s the case, we’ll be extremely proud and pleased for him."
The Brisbane Bullets are backing star big Tyrell Harrison to chase his NBA dream, even if it means reshaping their roster without him.
Harrison is turning heads at NBA Summer League with the Denver Nuggets, impressing across his first two outings.
The 26-year-old is central to Brisbane’s NBL26 plans, lining up alongside new recruit Jaylen Adams, proven import Casey Prather and elite stopper Sam McDaniel, but has full support from the club should an NBA contract come calling.
“Extremely proud of Tyrell. I don’t think I’ve seen a player develop and mature over the last two years the way Tyrell has,” club CEO Malcom Watts said. “He’s a massive piece for us. He’s part of our leadership team.
“But on the business side, we plan for everything. We don’t want to see him go, but if that’s the case, we’ll be extremely proud and pleased for him. We’ll see what transpires over the next few weeks and years.”
Club owner Jason Levien said it was inevitable Harrison would earn his NBA opportunity.
“I think he's a terrific talent. Tyrell had a fantastic year for us. I think he’s got NBA talent,” Levien added. “As someone who’s evaluated players for the NBA, Tyrell has the ability.
“Whether it's this year or in the future, I think he’ll get opportunities.
“We love him with the Bullets. His growth has been amazing, his leadership and the way he’s emerged as a real star in the league.
“We want the best for him and we’ll see how it plays out, but obviously we love having him in a Bullets uniform.”
Harrison took a major leap in the Hungry Jack’s NBL25 Season, lifting his scoring from 9.6 to 14.3 points per game and boosting his rebounding numbers from 6.2 to 9.7.
That breakout campaign earned him NBL Most Improved Player honours.
The 2025 NBA Summer League starts from July 11, Australian time, with exclusive interviews and insights available on the NBL App and NBL.com.au.
