The Brisbane Bullets are reportedly close to signing Will Weaver as the club's new head coach.

The Brisbane Bullets are reportedly in advanced talks to sign the club's new head coach for the NBL27 season.

According to ESPN's Olgun Uluc, former Sydney Kings coach Will Weaver has been in deep discussions with Brisbane over the past few weeks, including a number of in-person meetings with team owner Jason Levien in Washington D.C., United States.

Uluc explained there are still several contractual elements to be finalised, which would see Weaver replace Stu Lash, who recently parted ways with the club, as the Bullets head coach.

Since then, Darryl McDonald, who has publicly lobbied to remain in the position, has been serving as the team's interim head coach.

During his one season in the NBL, Weaver guided the Kings to the NBL20 Championship Series.

Since then, Weaver has spent time in the NBA as an assistant coach with Houston, Brooklyn and Charlotte, while spending the 2022-23 season with Paris Basketball.

The Bullets next play the Taipans in Cairns on Saturday from 5.30pm AEDT, live on ESPN.
