NBA veteran Tyler Johnson has put personal agendas to the side in order to prioritise turning the Brisbane Bullets’ season around.

NBA veteran Tyler Johnson has put personal agendas to the side in order to prioritise turning the Brisbane Bullets’ season around.

The Bullets have started 1-5 despite entering the season with championship expectations. Their only win has come against the bottom-placed Illawarra Hawks, who they face again on Thursday night in Brisbane.

Johnson boasts over 350 games of NBA experience with Miami, Phoenix, Brooklyn, Philadelphia and San Antonio, but has found himself starting on the bench in recent weeks

He's averaging 14 points on a 51.7 per cent shooting clip across the season so far, a statline not to be sneezed at, but the 30-year-old is all about team.

“There’s some sacrifices that right now I’m having to make as far as some of the shots and things like that, but in order for us to win, I’ll do whatever it takes,” Johnson told Newscorp

“We’re still continuing to get guys fit and in that shape that it’s going to take to be able to play at both ends really hard, so right now, there’s a sacrificing role.

“When the chips are down, I’ll be one of those guys. I’ll be a guy that can be depended on but right now we’re trying to figure some things out.”

The Bullets boast a star-studded lineup, with Johnson, Aron Baynes and Nathan Sobey all part of a roster which will be looking to turn its early-season fortunes around, and quickly.
