Josh Giddey has won Boomers bragging rights over Australian teammate Dyson Daniels as Chicago pipped Atlanta 128-123 to stay unbeaten this NBA season.

The Bulls improved to 3-0 for the first time in four years behind guard Giddey's (18 points, 13 rebounds, five assists) offensive punch and desperate rebounding.

Daniels (seven rebounds, three steals, two assists, two points), fresh off a most-improved player campaign and statistically-historic breakout NBA season, shot one-of-eight and had a costly late turnover as the Hawks fell to 1-3.

The Australians, facing each other for the first time since signing big-money off-season contract extensions, regularly matched up on each other in Chicago on Tuesday (AEST).

Daniels' three steals ensured he now holds the NBA's longest active streak (55 consecutive games with a steal) but it was the Bulls point guard who took the honours.

Giddey, 23, swatted away an early Daniels lay-up attempt and then put the 22-year-old in a spin cycle that forced the Hawks guard to grab his shoulder and concede the foul.

Atlanta led by 13 but twice the Bulls roared back, Giddey sealing victory when he soared above Daniels to rebound his own shot and help wind down the clock in the final seconds.

Giddey was seven-of-14 from the field to continue his strong season start but Daniels, who averaged 16 points per game last season, is yet to hit double figures in four games this season.

The Bulls had eight players with at least 10 points, Ayo Dosunmu (21) hitting four-of-six triples to lead Chicago's scoring.

Trae Young had 21 points and 17 assists for the Hawks while Jalen Johnson (25 points) and Kristaps Porzingis (27) were also busy.

In San Antonio, Victor Wembanyama continued his eye-catching early season form with 25 points and 15 rebounds in the Spurs' 121-102 defeat of Toronto.

In Philadelphia, Tyrese Maxey scored 43 points, including eight straight during a crucial fourth-quarter stretch as the 76ers beat the Orlando Magic 136-124 without Joel Embiid to improve to 3-0.

And Donovan Mitchell pumped in 35 points as his visiting Cleveland won their third straight, pounding Detroit 116-95.

Tari Eason scored 22 points, Alperen Sengun added 21 points, six rebounds and six assists, and Houston beat Brooklyn 137-109 for their first victory of the season.

Kevin Durant had 19 points against his former team, who fell to 0-4.
