The Adelaide 36ers have reportedly signed former NBA guard John Jenkins for the remainder of the NBL26 season.
The Adelaide 36ers have reportedly moved quickly to replace the mutually released Troy Brown Jr, by signing another former NBA player.
According to ESPN's Olgun Uluc, the 36ers have signed guard John Jenkins as their third import for the remainder of the Hungry Jack's NBL26 season, after parting ways with Brown on Monday.
After being selected with the 23rd pick by Atlanta in the 2012 NBA Draft, Jenkins spent six seasons in the NBA with the Hawks, Phoenix Suns, Dallas Mavericks, New York Knicks and Washington Wizards.
Across his 171 appearances, the now 34-year-old averaged 5 points, 1.5 rebounds and 0.8 assists per game.
Following his time in the NBA, which also included stints with G League Ignite, Jenkins has played professionally in China, Spain, Israel, Puerto Rico and most recently Romania, where he averaged 23.8 points and shot 41.5% from three for CS Valcea 1924.
During this time, Jenkins has regularly been part of USA Basketball in qualifying windows since 2017. This is where he met 36ers coach Mike Wells, who served as an assistant on multiple occasions for the national team.
Jenkins is expected to join the league leading 36ers in the coming days.
The 36ers, who are 19-5 on the season, play South East Melbourne on Sunday during the 2026 HoopsFest in Perth.
This Round 17 fixture tips off at 2.30pm AEDT, live on ESPN and Channel 10.
