36ers part ways with import

Tuesday, September 26, 2023

Jamaal Franklin has departed the Adelaide 36ers, just four days out from their first game of NBL24.

The Adelaide 36ers have struck a decisive roster change on the eve of the NBL season, mutually parting ways with import guard Jamaal Franklin.

Franklin arrived in Adelaide off the back of an electric stint in the Philippines, where he averaged over 31 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists for the Converge FiberXers.

Prior to that he played in China, the NBA and the NBA G-League.

He played two games at the Hungry Jack's NBL Blitz, scoring eight and 15 points respectively.

The 36ers released the following statement.

Adelaide 36ers and Jamaal Franklin have agreed to part ways by mutual consent effective immediately.

The decision has been made with the best interests of both parties moving forward.

The 36ers organisation would like to thank Jamaal for his time at the club and with him all the best for his future endeavours.

Jacob Rigoni will continue as the nominated replacement player on the roster.

Adelaide’s opening game of NBL24 will come on Friday night against Brisbane.
