The Australian Boomers have been drawn with Germany, Finland and Japan in Group E for the upcoming FIBA Basketball World Cup.
The Australian Boomers have been drawn with Germany, Finland and Japan in Group E for the upcoming FIBA Basketball World Cup.
The draw was held on Saturday night Australian time, with 32 nations locked into eight groups for the tournament, which begins in late August.
The Boomers will tip off their World Cup campaign against Finland on August 25, before games against Germany (August 27) and Japan (August 29).
All group E matches will be held at Okinawa Arena in Japan.

Australia currently sits third in the FIBA World Rankings, with Germany 11th, Finland 24th and Japan 36th.
The top two teams in each group will advance to the next round.
Should the Boomers do that, they'd face one of the top two finishers of Group F (Slovenia, Georgia, Venezuela, Cape Verde).

New Zealand has receved a tough draw, with the USA, Greece and Jordan alongside them in Group C.
All eyes will be on the South Sudan side too, with NBL stars like Bul Kuol, Sunday Dech and Majok Deng among the squad that helped the world's youngest nation qualify for the World Cup.
