Vaughan Mayberry came just the fourth referee to join the 900-game club during Round 8 of the Hungry Jack's NBL26 season.
In Round 8, Vaughan Mayberry became just the fourth referee in NBL history to officiate 900 games.
Mayberry, who has won the NBL's Referee of the Year on seven occasions, brought up the milestone during Thursday's clash between Tasmania and South East Melbourne at the Silverdome.
He joins Ray Hunt (949 games), Bill Mildenhall (945) and Michael Aylen (930) in the 900-club.
NBL Head of Referees Scott Butler praised Mayberry on the achievement, highlighting the impact he's made on the competition.
"Vaughan is an absolute professional at his craft, while also being one of the nicest people that you would ever hope to meet," Butler said.
"To reach the 900-game milestone is not only a special achievement in terms of his longevity, but it just shows you exactly how much of a good individual he is to have hung around so long and to put his heart and soul into the competition.
"[The key to his longevity] is, personality wise, he's remained pretty consistent over the years.
"He's a guy who's really good for culture, he's very easy to get along with, he's always considerate of other people and he tries to find the humanity in everything that he does."
Mayberry will return to the court on Sunday for Illawarra's clash with Sydney, tipping off at 2.30pm AEDT, live on ESPN and Channel 10.
