REPORT: Reath signs NBA deal

Wednesday, September 13, 2023
Australian big man Duop Reath has reportedly signed with the Portland Trail Blazers.
Former Illawarra Hawk and current Australian Boomers star Duop Reath is headed to the NBA, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting.
Reath, who most recently played for Al Riyadi Club Beirut in Lebanon, is said to have signed with the Portland Trail Blazers, the same club as NBL alum and Next Star Rayan Rupert and Boomers guard Matisse Thybulle.
Reath represented Australia at the recent FIBA World Cup, and has had stints in Serbia, China and Lebanon, alongside a season at Illawarra in NBL22.
He was a strong performer during the NBA’s Summer League, averaging 13 points, 7.4 rebounds and 1.6 blocks a game, clearly impressing the Trail Blazers’ scouts.
According to Wojnarowski, Reath has signed a one-year deal.
