“Adelaide is here”. That’s all that needs to be said after the 36ers stunned the world by defeating the Phoenix Suns to the tune of 10 points in the first game of their NBLxNBA tour.

Craig Randall II dropped 35 points. Robert Franks dropped 32. Mitch McCarron had 16 assists and three steals. The team shot an incredible 24/43 threes.

Every single player on Adelaide’s roster stepped up to be counted when the going got tough, but it’s Randall, in tandem with Franks, who stole the show with his immaculate performance from beyond the arc.

“My teammates told me I had time to keep going,” Randall told NBL Media after the historic win.

“Coach talked to me before the game, ‘just stay calm all game, the shot’s going to come’. We’re not here to play, we’re not scared of anything and we showed up tonight.

“From the front office to the coaching staff to the hard work we put in as a team – we’re bought in right now.”

After such an incredible personal effort social media is alight with calls for Randall to join an NBA team as soon as possible.

He says he’s purely focused on continuing the development of the 36ers.

“I’m locked in on the NBL season right now. I’ll worry about the NBA when it comes but I hope everybody watched tonight,” he said.

“Adelaide is here, we’re going to come back to Australia, worry about those games and see what we can do this year.

“It’s a big moment for everybody. I’m happy.”
