Pre-season action starts Thursday

It's hard to believe the Sydney Kings' raising of the NBL23 championship trophy was close to five months ago, and with that in mind, a new pre-season is just around the corner. In fact, tip off is this Thursday! 

Collegiate side California Baptist – which boasts Cairns guard Taran Armstrong amongst its recent alum – will arrive on Australian shores to play three games in four days, against Brisbane, Melbourne and South East Melbourne.

The Perth Wildcats will take on the best in the West to open their pre-season campaign, when they face a NBL1 West select team made up of the top players from the conference, on August 25 and August 27.

Former NBL import Devondrick Walker and NBL23 champion Zac Gattorna will lead the NBL1 side.

The Wildcats will also travel to Las Vegas for a historic clash with the NBA G-League Ignite in early September.

Despite being set to face off in Round 1, fans will not have to wait until the end of September to watch the first Throwdown of the season, when local rivals Melbourne and South East Melbourne face off on September 9.
