Wildcats confirm signing of NBL1 star

The Perth Wildcats have confirmed the signing of Nominated Replacement Player Jimmy Whitt on a one-year contract.

The 6'3" guard joins the Wildcats from the Gold Coast Rollers in the NBL1 North, averaging 22.79 points, 6.32 rebounds and 6.05 assists per game.

This showing helped the Rollers defeat Ipswich 2-0 in the North Grand Final over the weekend.

The news comes as the Wildcats also announced development player Blake Nielsen underwent successful reconstruction surgery to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his right knee.

"He will begin his rehabilitation process immediately and is expected to miss the entirety of the 2026-27 season," the Wildcats said via the website.

"Updates on his progress will be provided as appropriate."

The Wildcats also announced young gun Marley Sam has suffered a sprained ligament in his wrist and will be re-evaluated in two weeks.
