The Perth Wildcats will aim to sign two more imports for their NBL24 roster.

Wildcats General Manager of Basketball Operations Danny Mills has revealed the club has pivoted in its off-season recruitment plans, and is now looking to sign two further imports for its NBL24 roster.

Three-time league MVP Bryce Cotton will continue his exceptional stint at the club, while the side has also added star local centre Keanu Pinder to its ranks for the upcoming campaign.

After initially hoping to sign an import and a local star, Mills says the club has now parked plans to sign a further marquee.

“We signed one marquee player in Keanu and to sign another would have been fantastic,” Mills told The West Australian.

“There are only so many of them at that quality, Realistically, we are looking at signing two imports.

“In a perfect world we want guys with professional experience that have runs on the board. We have a list of players starting from guys in their first year out of college, to people who have spent 10 years playing professionally.

“The likelihood is we will be signing someone who isn’t plying Summer League.

“We will survey the field, evaluate and make sure we make the right decision.”

Perth’s season begins on Friday, September 29 against the Tasmania JackJumpers.
