Taking a look at what our NBL players are getting up to in NBL1 action around the country.
NBL1 North was back to a full schedule this weekend, paving the way for the NBL’s Most Improved Player Sam Froling to make a huge debut for Townsville.
The Illawarra star notched up a whopping 36 points and 24 rebounds in the Heat’s three-point win over Cairns, facing off against fellow NBL guns Mirko Djeric (22 points and six assists) and Majok Deng (27 points and six rebounds).
Froling’s Hawks teammate Emmett Naar also made his NBL1 debut over the weekend, collecting 14 points and three assists for the Ballarat Miners in their NAIDOC Week win over Knox.
Teams across the country welcomed back a host of Melbourne United Championship players, with Mitch McCarron suiting up for Northside, Sam McDaniel pulling on the Sandringham singlet, Mason Peatling playing for Knox and Shea Ili suiting up for Geelong.
He may not have played a game for Melbourne United yet, but new addition Zac Triplett showed how much of an impact he could have in NBL22, producing 36 points and 11 rebounds in a nail-biting overtime loss for the Melbourne Tigers.
In NBL1 West, Perth Wildcats’ Tom Jervis pulled on the Rockingham singlet for the first time this year, notching up exactly 11 points and six rebounds in the Flames’ clashes with Willetton and Geraldton.
