Milo set for impactful NBA 2K League season

Milo set for impactful NBA 2K League season

Thursday, May 2, 2024

With 3v3 coming to a close, NBL Oz Gaming’s attention shifts to 5v5, where we will see Meason 'Milo' Camille make his return to the NBA 2K League.

Having played for Pistons GT in the COVID-impacted 2021 season, Milo will play for the NBL’s team next week after not participating in 3v3 play.

Reigning Coach of the Year Mootyy explained that Milo has “fit in like a shoe”, and adding a second Australian has been a unique experience.

“There's no one on this earth like him, he is literally the most unique person. I think he's the funniest person I've ever met I'm not even kidding,” he said.

“He has no filter, [he’ll] walk into the room and make everyone laugh immediately whether things are going good or bad.”

Milo will get to shine at his more natural position of center during 5v5.

Under the mentorship of former NBA 2K League big man Mootyy, the head coach explained Milo is set for an impactful first season.

“He’s playing 10s almost every night until like 3 am, he’s texting me every single night, sending me box scores and seeing what he can improve,” Mooty said.

“It’s just impressive, I think he’s going to have a real great season. I think that that's not only just because of his skill but the type of person he is and the type of teammate he is.

“I think a lot of people would be shocked, but the words getting around that ‘hey, Milo doesn’t stink’, he’s playing against the top pros every night.”

Mootyy said that Milo on the stage and playing in person will be even more impactful, his energy and voice will elevate the team to another level of competitiveness.

“He has so much energy, his trash talk is hilarious and he's just a loud person,” he said.

“I can't see him ever having really a bad game, he's seriously the best rebounder I've seen center-wise.

He believes Milo’s impact will fly under the radar during 5v5 but his work ethic and skill set will be instrumental if the Roos are to repeat last season’s success.

“I think the league's gonna be a little shocked at how well and consistent he plays,” he said.

“If he comes out on that popper, just don't leave him open. He's easily the best shooting center right now. And that's not being biased.”

The Tipoff starts on Thursday, May 9 at 9:00am AEST / Wednesday, May 8 at 6:00pm ET live via the NBA 2K League’s Twitch channel.
