Kings confirm star's exit

Thursday, April 11, 2024
The Sydney Kings have confirmed the club will part ways with import forward DJ Hogg.
The Sydney Kings have announced they have parted ways with DJ Hogg, following a mutual declining to exercise the option on the final year of the import forward’s contract.
Hogg was signed by the Kings ahead of the NBL24 season after a debut NBL campaign with the Cairns Taipans the year prior, in which he was nominated to the All-NBL Second Team.
He endured consistent injury issues throughout his sole season with the Kings, and only played 16 of a possible 29 games as the then back-to-back reigning champions crashed out of the Finals with a Play-In Qualifier defeat to New Zealand.
“We thank DJ for his commitment to the club this past season and wish him the best moving forward,” Kings CEO Chris Pongrass said.
Hogg’s confirmed departure has come after reports former King and two-time champion forward Xavier Cooks has agreed to return to the club, and the re-signing of fellow forward Kouat Noi.
