Is NBL All-Star Weekend Set to Return?

The biggest names in the NBL could soon have a platform to showcase their skills with the revival of an All-Star Weekend being discussed according to league owner Larry Kestelman.

The NBL hasn’t had an All-Star Weekend since the 2012/13 campaign but the league will be exploring opportunities to relaunch the concept in the future, once expansion takes place and the season stretches over a longer period.

“As soon as we look to expand our season, the All-Star is something that we’d absolutely love to do,” Kestelman told Newscorp.

“Our season will go longer as we look to bring in new clubs and as soon as that happens, we will look to introduce the All-Star Weekend because it’s something that is a lot of fun and people like to watch.”

Star players, including Sydney’s Xavier Cooks and South East Melbourne’s Ryan Broekhoff, have supported the return of an All-Star Weekend.
