Freeway Series to ignite again

Illawarra Hawks star Sam Froling says things could boil over again between him and Angus Glover in tomorrow night’s Freeway Series battle against the Sydney Kings.

“Between me and Angus, I've known him forever and what happens on the court, stays on the court, we're cool off it. But if he wants to start something, we'll see (what happens),” Froling said via the Illawarra Mercury.

Ashley couldn’t pass up NBL

New South East Melbourne Phoenix signing Brandon Ashley says the recent surge in NBL players making the NBA meant he couldn’t pass up re-joining the league.

“There were a couple of other options, but it’s hard to pass up something like this in the NBL…I’ve seen talent come from the NBL and find their way to the NBA,” Ashley told the Herald Sun.

Hawks hyped for Kings clash

Hawks captain AJ Ogilvy admits the playing group will be “hyped” for tomorrow night’s clash with the Kings.

“I don't doubt that we'll be bouncing off the walls come Thursday night,” Ogilvy wrote in the Illawarra Mercury.

Health first for Taipans

Cairns Taipans coach Adam Forde says the club will prioritise the health of their players who are exiting COVID isolation.  

“The main thing is with these guys coming back from quarantine period, we want to make sure we minimise the risk of injury,” Forde said via the Cairns Post.

The coach added players leaving isolation could be a “high risk factor for acute injury”.
