Two games, two massive matchups: Melbourne United v Adelaide 36ers, and Perth Wildcats v South East Melbourne Phoenix.

Saturday, September 19, 2026 marks the opening tip of the Hungry Jack's NBL27 Season, and it doesn't get much bigger, with championship contenders in action from the very first night and no shortage of star power to match.

A refreshed Melbourne United side headlined by Cole Anthony, Luke Travers and Joe Ingles will look to make an early statement against last season's runners up, Adelaide. Standing in their way are Bryce Cotton and Zylan Cheatham, ready to spoil the party.

Across the country, the red army will be buzzing to welcome their team back to RAC Arena, where Jo Lual Acuil Jr, Kristian Doolittle and Elijah Pepper are set to lead the charge. Opposing them is a hungry South East Melbourne Phoenix outfit under Josh King, determined to go one better and reach the Championship Series this season, with Skylar Mays and Nathan Sobey among those out to prove a point.

Tip off is 7:30pm AEST on Saturday, September 19, the first of a jam packed 13 games across nine days as part of Opening Week.
