Gun-off season signing Robert Franks has touched down in Adelaide and will line up for the 36ers in NBL23.

Despite reported interest from a Russian club, PBC Lokomotiv Kuban, Franks landed in Australia on Sunday night and is set to join his new teammates on Monday.

“We’re just pleased that Robert is here on the floor with his teammates and ready to go for the new season,” Adelaide CEO Nick Barbato told News Corp.

“He is pumped and we’re looking forward to the team coming together and Robert is a really important piece of that.”

Franks averaged 18 and nine rebounds in his first season in the NBL, winning Brisbane's MVP Award.

He was originally scheduled to arrive in Adelaide in early August, but his arrival was set back due to delayed flights.

The 25-year-old then raised eyebrows further, posting an Instagram Story on a plane to Turkey.

According to NewsCorp's Matt Logue, Franks had agreed to a deal with Lokomotiv in Russia, but the club withdrew the offer due to an ankle injury sustained during the NBA's Summer League.

Franks was one of the stars of NBL22, and will team up with Defensive Player of the Year Antonius Cleveland in a new-look 36ers' side.
