NBA All-Star calls for Australia to host more NBA games

Six-time All-Star Blake Griffin believes Australia could host a regular season NBA game.
The success of the historic NBAxNBL Melbourne Series continues to be recognised all over the world.
During the huge event, more than 60,000 basketball fans attended Melbourne Park to experience games between the New Orleans Pelicans and Melbourne/South East Melbourne, as well as open training and Fan Night.
This led to Naismith Hall of Famer Ray Allen and Pelicans coach Willie Green saying they’d love to see more NBA games in Australia.
That's a sentiment six-time NBA All-Star Blake Griffin has been quick to echo.
“Having a game, you know a full, real game, not just a pre-season game, it would be really, really cool," Griffin said to CODE Sports.
"I know there’s a lot of NBA fans in Australia and there’s a lot of NBA players from Australia.
"As the NBA expands around the globe, you know it [a regular season NBA game in Australia] is well within the realm of possibility."
Comments like these are music to the ears of NBL Group Executive Director Larry Kestelman, who recently said the NBL's partnership with the NBA has 'never been stronger'.
"[It's] fantastic to hear NBA legends like Blake Griffin want to see more games in Melbourne," Kestelman said.
“We would be delighted to continue building on our strong relationship with the NBA and explore more opportunities to bring the world’s best talent back to Australia in the future.”
The NBA App recently announced it would be streaming NBL games into the United States and Canada, further strengthening the two competitions' connection.
