Opening night sell-out looms

Friday, September 8, 2023
Less than 1,000 tickets remain for Throwdown XXI.
The NBL season-opening blockbuster between Melbourne United and South East Melbourne Phoenix is close to selling out in record time.
Less than 1,000 tickets remain for Throwdown XXI, with three weeks until tip-off.
It will kick-start what promises to be a bumper opening round, which also includes a New South Wales derby between the Hawks and Kings, the Wildcats and JackJumpers battling it out in Perth, and the NBL23 runners-up, the New Zealand Breakers hosting the upstart Cairns Taipans.
Melbourne is likely to enter opening night favourites with a stacked roster, headlined by the returning Matthew Dellavedova, Chris Goulding, Luke Travers and Ian Clark.
However, South East Melbourne always lifts in Throwdowns, as the likes of Mitch Creek and Alan Williams provide a mighty challenge.
