Talking points

Debut for new 36er
Just days after arriving in Australia, new Adelaide 36er Troy Brown Jr is set to make his debut on Sunday.

With 371 NBA games to his name, Brown Jr is sure to add firepower to an already electric Adelaide outfit, headlined by five-time MVP Bryce Cotton.

Adelaide already boasts the third-best offence in the NBL (behind Melbourne and South East Melbourne), so will Brown Jr's addition catapult them to top spot?

Another Bryce explosion incoming?
The last time three-time champion Cotton played against Cairns, he scored 53 points on 55.2 per cent shooting from the field.

And with the five-time MVP averaging close to two points more against Cairns than his career NBL average, all signs lead to another big showing by the University of Providence alum.

So it's up to Cairns to slow him down at a packed out Adelaide Entertainment Centre.

What they're saying

New Adelaide 36ers recruit Troy Brown Jr on what he will bring to the team:
“It’s just using my versatility to be really help the team in whatever manner it needs to.

“I watched some film looking at how they [Adelaide] play and how hard they play, the ball movement, the pieces they have I think it’s a really good team.

“With the team they already have and just adding me, I think it’ll be great.”

Cairns Taipans coach Adam Forde on his his team plan to respond:
"Would I have loved to have a couple more wins under our belt? Sure, but we don't have that luxury, so are we just going to talk about what could have been or do we make a legitimate run at it.

"There's no reason why we can't come December 6 when everybody's here, let's go, but we have two more games until then and I just need to keep getting this fight from the group.

"I have no doubt they will rise to the occasion."
