Former Geelong Supercat Bruce Hultgren has joined the chorus of tributes for former NBL champion Cecil Exum.

Tributes have been flowing in for former and NBL star Cecil Exum, following the announcement of his passing on Tuesday.

Exum, aged 60, won the 1989 NBL title as a member of the North Melbourne Giants, and also represented the Geelong Supercats and Melbourne Tigers over the course of his seven-season NBL career.

“I think anybody who watched him play would remember the way he moved … he glided around the court,” Exum’s former Geelong teammate Bruce Hultgren reminisced to News Corp.

“Anybody who ever met him would remember his smile.

“He was the quintessential nice guy … he would have a warm smil, handshake or hug and give you his time … when it was time to play he was the ultimate pro.”

“[He was] one of those rare humans where as many people as you speak to in basketball, you struggle to find a person who didn’t love him,” NBL legend Chris Anstey said on SEN.

“Certainly a very sad day.”
