Robinson praises "gutsy" Hawks move

Wednesday, February 28, 2024
Illawarra's Justin Robinson has praised the move to bring him off the bench.
Illawarra’s Justin Robinson has been an integral part of the Hawks’ resurgence this season, and the second year NBL guard has praised head coach Justin Tatum and the club’s coaching staff for changing his role to come off the bench.
Robinson has endured an inconsistent NBL24 following his return from the serious knee injury that kept him sidelined for the entire NBL23 campaign.
At his best though, Robinson has proven to be a game-breaking talent alongside his team’s three-pronged attack of Gary Clark, Tyler Harvey and Sam Froling.
“I came here to win, so I’ll do whatever it takes to make that happen,” Robinson told The Illawarra Mercury.
“It was a gutsy move for them to pull me off the bench and I’m excited they took that chance, because it’s worked.
“Credit to them for putting me in that position and letting things flow, and it’s a credit to my teammates for having my back through everything that has happened throughout the year.”
The Hawks will take on the Tasmania JackJumpers in the Seeding Qualifier on Wednesday night at 5:30pm AEDT, live on ESPN via Kayo.
