Dave Hughes’ love for Chase Buford

Australian comedian Dave Hughes has confessed his love for Sydney Kings coach Chase Buford.

“I love Chase Buford. I love his attitude on the court and I love what he’s doing with the Sydney Kings because they are on a roll,” Hughes said on 2DayFM.

United roster change not “on the cards”

ESPN’s Kane Pitman has reported he’s been told “no changes are on the cards at this stage” about Melbourne United’s roster, despite the club’s open import spots.

Kenyon, Magnay updates

The Mercury has reported Tasmania JackJumpers star Will Magnay remains “two to three weeks away” according to doctors.

Meanwhile, coach Scott Roth has explained Matt Kenyon’s injury as “more of a pain tolerance…I think 100 percent next week he’s going to play”.

NBA scouts “exciting” for United

Melbourne United star Chris Goulding admits it is “exciting” to have NBA scouts at their training, after a San Antonio Spurs representative visited the club’s session on Thursday.

“With the COVID restrictions and borders opening up, coming down here to see some our talented guys is a lot more accessible. It’s exciting for those guys. We had a good hitout today, so if they want to keep coming, it’s all good,” Goulding said via Newscorp.

No disadvantage for Sixers

Perth Wildcats captain Jesse Wagstaff says the Adelaide 36ers won’t be disadvantaged during their battle on Sunday, as coach CJ Bruton is sidelined with COVID-19.

“They’ll be fine. They’ve got good assistant staff and I’m sure they’ll be fine and ready to go. At this stage, it’s kind of systems based and everyone knows their stuff,” Wagstaff said via The West Australian.

Pinder thrilled with Taipans’ system

Taipans rising star Keanu Pinder has revealed how happy he is in Cairns, saying he fits like a glove into Adam Forde’s system.

“That’s what he brought me in for, he knows what I can do and he’s letting me show everyone else what I can do. I’m so glad I’ve got the opportunity to come play for Adam in the NBL because we’ve known each other for a long time,” Pinder said via Fox Sports.

Opals World Cup draw

The Australian Opals have drawn France, Canada, Japan, Serbia and Nigeria in their pool for the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup. The top four progress to the quarter finals.

The World Cup begins on September 22 in Sydney.
