Calls for Summer League Team

An NBL team competing in the NBA Summer League is a reality with discussions taking place over the years, according to NBL Owner, Larry Kestelman.

“Quite frankly, if we took a serious team over to the Summer League, we would probably do very well,” Kestelman told Newscorp.

The Summer League has become a hive of NBL activity in recent years, with players from all around the world auditioning for big-time contracts.  

“But I think it can absolutely happen … we’ve discussed this with the NBA before and they were open to it, so we will continue those discussions.”

Kestelman cited the NBL All-Stars team that travelled to China in the offseason as a potential model.
