Bullets deny Froling claims

Friday, September 15, 2023
"There has been contact from different people within the club."
The Brisbane Bullets have denied claims from former player Harry Froling on social media that the club hasn’t contacted him since his serious head injury in January.
Froling suffered a fractured skull and bleeding on the brain following an incident after Brisbane’s game with the Illawarra Hawks in Wollongong last January.
Speaking on SEN, Bullets CEO Malcolm Watts said the club was eager to help the 25-year-old.
“Look, I feel for the guy. He has gone through a unique situation and is suffering an injury that is quite long-term,” Watts said.
“In terms of the lack of contact, there has been contact from different people within the club.
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Since my injury I haven’t had one message from the Brisbane Bullets. Only people I hear from are my former team mates and Sammy Mack, and other NBL clubs. Makes you wonder what goes on in those offices. Not even a message asking if I would like access to the gym, or physio. ??</p>— Harry Froling (@HarryFroling) <a href="https://twitter.com/HarryFroling/status/1701098833923764652?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">September 11, 2023</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
“That said, he is feeling a certain way and clearly there has to be an opportunity to jump on that and see what we can do to help with his recovery.
“From my position, we have care for all our past players. A project we are working on at the moment is actually how we engage, keep in contact and bring them back into the fold.”
Froling added he has received support from several members of the NBL community, including Cairns coach Adam Forde, former South East Melbourne coach Simon Mitchell, Sam Mackinnon, Illawarra, Sydney, and other NBL clubs.
Newscorp reports NBL clubs have interest in Froling if he is cleared to return.
