Bogut Picks Cooks For NBA

Andrew Bogut knows a thing or two about the NBA. And he believes the next Australian NBA star is playing for the Sydney Kings.

Andrew Bogut knows a thing or two about the NBA. The Australian basketball legend was the first Aussie player to be selected at number one in the NBA draft and he won a championship with the Golden State Warriors in 2015.

Now a part-owner of the Sydney Kings, Bogut believes we are watching an NBA player in the NBL on a weekly basis: Xavier Cooks.

Cooks has no doubt turned heads again this season, improving his performances to an MVP standard.

Bogut believes Cooks can make the NBA, and could already be playing there if he neatens up his outside shooting.

“If Xavier had the three-ball it would be a no-brainer and he’d be in the NBA already, but I still think he is an NBA player with his skillset and being able to be multi positional,” Bogut told Newscorp.

Cooks is averaging 17 points from 60% shooting, alongside 8.4 rebounds and 4.0 assists, for the league leading Kings.

Bogut added he compares Cooks to Warriors superstar Draymond Green due to his all-around ability and contributions.
