Alan Williams and the South East Melbourne Phoenix have mutually terminated the center's contract with the club.

The South East Melbourne Phoenix and import Alan Williams have parted ways, despite the star center initially being contracted for NBL25.

The decision has come after Williams endured another injury-hit season, in which he played just 15 of the Phoenix’s 28 regular season games, and the club finished the season rooted to the bottom of the ladder.

The former Phoenix Sun was the only player in the competition to average a double-double across NBL24, with 16.7 points and 10.9 rebounds per game.

“Alan will forever be a big part of the history of the Phoenix and will leave an indelible mark on this club and our fans,” South East Melbourne CEO Greer said.

“His efforts on court were matched by the work he did in the community through club programs and as a public advocate for the Phoenix.

“We wish Alan and Cassidy all the best on whatever is to come in the future and thank them for being part of the Phoenix.”

“I just want to thank the Phoenix, the organisation and most importantly the fans for the love they showed me in my time here,” Williams said.

“This was my first time in Australia and I loved it. The Phoenix played a big part in that and I’ll forever be part of the Heartland."

The 31-year-old is now a free agent.
