Kmart calls GAMETIME

Wednesday, September 27, 2023

"Our partnership with KMART is underpinned by a shared commitment to make a tangible difference to the next generation of basketballers."

In a major win for families and kids, the GAMETIME by Kmart program will continue this season thanks to a partnership extension with the Hungry Jack’s National Basketball League (NBL).

The GAMETIME by Kmart community program delivers educational basketball activities and clinics to school students across Australia and New Zealand, with NBL clubs and players participating. More than 600,000 kids have participated in GAMETIME since it began, with NBL players taking a key role in the delivery.

The entertaining and engaging program designed for primary schools allows students to learn how to play basketball, develop skills, and meet and play against others in the NBL community. It strives to help create strong community links and lifelong fans of the game, in a fun, friendly and inclusive environment.

“Our partnership with Kmart is highly impactful and meaningful for the wider NBL community and we are delighted to see it continue for another season,” NBL Chief Executive Officer, David Stevenson, said.

“At Kmart, we are passionate about our purpose of making everyday living brighter for our community, and we are so proud that through partnering with the NBL we can continue to do this for families across Australia and New Zealand,” Kmart’s General Manager of Marketing, Rennie Freer, said.

“We are very much looking forward to seeing our GAMETIME by Kmart community program grow this season and continue to provide children with a unique basketball experience in an inclusive and welcoming environment.”

“Our partnership with KMART is underpinned by a shared commitment to make a tangible difference to the next generation of basketballers. The GAMETIME program has introduced our game to hundreds of thousands of kids across Australia and New Zealand and is a vital component of what we do,” NBL Chief Partnership Officer, Lauren Hansen, said.

The 2023/24 Hungry Jack’s NBL Season begins on Thursday night when Melbourne United hosts the South East Melbourne Phoenix at John Cain Arena at 7:30pm AEST live on ESPN via Kayo Sports.
