Reath to “revolutionise” NBL

Illawarra Hawks coach Brian Goorjian believes new recruit Duop Reath can “revolutionise” the NBL.

“Duop has set himself really big goals and that includes becoming a regular on the national team and making the NBA. I think he can have a Jock Landale style impact on the league and our team,” Goorjian told Newscorp.

NBA turns more eyes to NBL

More and more eyeballs are watching the NBL, with Newscorp reporting the NBA is “hiring more multiple scouts to monitor the NBL and the junior ranks”.

Goulding thrilled with Vickerman deal

The re-signing of coach Dean Vickerman has been given the tick of approval by Melbourne United captain Chris Goulding.

“It’s great news for the club. Success follows Dean and that isn’t by accident. Ever since he got to the club the level of professionalism, the progression of our culture, and on court success have all improved and continue to improve,” Goulding said.

Vickerman will remain United coach until at least the end of the 2023-24 season.

“Why not?”: Hukporti sets NBA goal

Melbourne United NBL Next Star Ariel Hukporti is ready to use his time in the NBL to win a championship and eventually catapult to the NBA.

“First of all I want to win the championship with the team and get better individually, so I can help the team get what they deserve,” Hukporti told Fairfax Media.

“About the NBA Draft - I’m not really thinking about that right now, just about how I can get better but, yeah, it’s everyone’s dream to be in the NBA, right? Why not? I want to be in the NBA Draft next year.”

Perth Wildcats import Michael Frazier II is ready to fill the role of the club’s energiser bunny this season.

“I play with a lot of energy. I always like to play every game like it’s my last because I know it can be taken away at any second,” Frazier II told The West Australian.
