Hawks in “deep dark box”

Illawarra Hawks coach Brian Goorjian has conceded his team is in a dark place as they fight to stay in touch with the top four.

“It's me, I've got to get more out of our team, we've lost a lot of games at home now and where do you go from here? We're in a deep dark box right now. But I like our group, I like the way they compete and I do think we're going to fight and I do think we're going to bounce back,” Goorjian said via the Illawarra Mercury.

Zimmerman responds

Cairns Taipans coach Adam Forde has praised import Stephen Zimmerman, who had a strong weekend of performances after his starting spot came into question.

“Zim answered the call, and we just need a few more guys to do the same,” Forde said via the Cairns Post.

Agada finding better balance

Melbourne coach Dean Vickerman says import Caleb Agada is finding a better balance at when he can get his shots in United’s high-powered offence.

“I think he’s finding a better balance about really attacking the paint and making the step-back three, which is a signature move for him. He’s one of the best defenders on this team,” Vickerman said via the Herald Sun.

JackJumpers winning through “hard work”

Tasmania JackJumpers CEO Simon Brookhouse says the club’s recent hot streak has been made possible through an unrelenting work ethic.

“We’ve won five of our past six games and that is purely through hard work. We have been defensively tough from day one and now we are bringing offense to the fore,” Brookhouse said via The Mercury.
