"We’re excited to be able to offer NBL athletes an award that is aligned to their passion."

Global icon of basketball and sneaker culture, Foot Locker, will return for its third season with the Hungry Jack’s National Basketball League (NBL).

The partnership will centre again around the Foot Locker Player of the Game, awarded after every match-up, including the Play-in Tournament and Finals.

The new deal builds on the momentum of Foot Locker investing at all levels of basketball, with the NBL1, WNBL Awards, National Junior Championships, National Schools Championship and local hoops culture events like Summer Jam and recent NBA player visits - such as Dirk Nowitzki in Auckland and Damian Lillard in Melbourne - all part of Foot Locker’s ‘Every Court Counts’ offence.

“We are delighted to continue our incredible partnership with the O.G. sneaker store, Foot Locker,” NBL Chief Partnerships Officer, Lauren Hansen, said.

“Foot Locker is engrained in basketball culture, making this collaboration seamless and one that delivers so many great benefits to all our players and fans.

“After a strong start to our partnership last season, we are confident the connection between Foot Locker and the NBL will only strengthen.”

“The NBL is a true two-way league, where the Player of the Game is someone who makes an impact at both ends of the floor,” said Foot Locker Director of Marketing Paul Gledden.

“This complements our male and female Player of the Game sponsorship at NBL1 level, as well as our Defensive Player of the Tournament award at Foot Locker National Championships for all junior age groups.

“We’re excited to be able to offer NBL athletes an award that is aligned to their passion, whilst also being part of the pathways for so many emerging hoopers.”

Player of the Game and promotional announcements will be made across the NBL’s broadcast and social channels with winning players receiving a $250 Foot Locker gift card each game.

Fans can also keep an eye out for other Foot Locker competitions and incentives throughout the season, across NBL and Foot Locker channels, like @footlocker_au and @footlocker_nz on Instagram and Tik Tok.
