Scott Ninnis is thrilled with the local talent in the Adelaide 36ers' squad, with the import spots still to fill.

They still have two key import roster spots to fill, but the Adelaide 36ers say “stability” is key ahead of the NBL25 season.

While the 36ers have been open about their search for high quality imports and their willingness to spend big to land a big fish, coach Scott Ninnis is thrilled with the local talent in the squad.

Long term deals for Isaac Humphries and DJ Vasiljevic were a major focus in Adelaide’s NBL25 roster build, while sustained success is front-of-mind.

“It’s been a long time but it’s exciting, being able to put a team together, we have a had a few forced changes, but I have talked about that stability right from the start,” Ninnis told the 36ers’ website.

“To get some people locked away on multi-year terms is very exciting.”

Last week, ESPN’s Olgun Uluc reported the club had shown interest in several high-profile recruits with NBL experience, among them Jaylen Adams, DJ Hogg, Gary Clark and Jarrell Brantley.

So far those names have alluded them, but the 36ers will remain stead-fast in their approach to signing quality players to complement Humphries and Vasiljevic, rather than making a rushed decision simply on who is available in the market.

Adelaide’s younger brigade is led up by talented South Australia center Ben Griscti, swingmen Nick Marshall and Jacob Rigoni and power forward Lat Mayen, who’s made the move from the Cairns Taipans.

“We are building for the now, but we are also building for the future,” Ninnis said.

“To get some of these young, South Australian guys locked away is key for us moving forward,

“Ultimately, it’s about winning games now and I think it’s coming together pretty nicely.”
