Olbrich stakes NBA claim

Sunday, May 11, 2025
Lachlan Olbrich scored 15 points and 7 rebounds in a strong NBA G-League Elite Camp performance.
Illawarra Hawks big man Lachlan Olbrich made the most of his opportunity on Day 1 of the NBA G-League Elite Camp, finishing with 15 points and 7 rebounds in 21 minutes, in a strong performance that has sparked fresh NBA buzz.
The 21-year-old averaged 8.4 points and 3.8 rebounds during NBL25 and is one of six NBL players to nominate for the 2025 NBA Draft. Among them are four Next Stars - Rocco Zikarsky (Brisbane Bullets), Malique Lewis (South East Melbourne), Alex Toohey (Sydney Kings), Olbrich and Izan Almansa (Perth Wildcats)—as well as fellow Perth prospect Ben Henshall.
Zikarsky, Toohey, Almansa and Henshall have already secured invites to the NBA Draft Combine, which begins on May 11 in Chicago. After his standout effort at the Elite Camp, Olbrich may well be the next to receive a call-up.
