The New Zealand National Basketball League is stacked with NBL talent.

New Sydney Kings recruit Izayah Le’Afa was a star for Wellington in a four-point loss against the Franklin Bulls.

Le'Afa scored 35 points to go with six rebounds and four assists, while fellow King Sam Timmins played a standout role for the winners, finishing with 14 points, 12 rebounds, two steals and three blocks.

Dan Grida had another big weekend with the Nelson Giants, with 21 points and nine boards against the Rams, followed by 18 points against the Hawks two days later.

Fellow Illawarra-rostered youngster Lachlan Olbrich had another big weekend, with two double-doubles for Canterbury, including a 27-point, 17-rebound haul against the Giants.
