Game 2 recap
A strong defensive effort from the Boomers right the opening tip, was enough to see them hold the Tall Blacks to just 10 points in the first quarter. At one point in the third quarter, Owen Foxwell pushed Australia's lead out to 18 points, before Taylor Britt stepped up to give New Zealand a fighting chance.
The Breakers' new signing Britt had 19 points off the bench for the Tall Blacks, as he and Shea Ili (18 points) did their best to keep the scoreboard ticking over. Finn Delany chimed in with eight points himself.
For the Boomers, they had four players in double figures, led by Kings' forward Xavier Cooks. Elijah Pepper continued his scoring run with 12 points of his own, while Todd Blanchfield and Angus Glover both had 11 and 10 points respectively. The 18 offensive rebounds for Australia allowed too many second chance opportunities for New Zealand to get close by the end of the game.
