Hickey, Dennis shine in All Stars' win

Illawarra Hawks star Will Hickey and Cairns Taipans free agent Kian Dennis were the standouts in the Indigenous men’s All Stars Team’s win over Sacramento State on Tuesday night.

The pair hit 17 points apiece, with Dennis shooting at an impressive 85 per cent from the field, and Hickey pulling down eight rebounds for the game.

Illawarra Hawks free agent Biwali Bayles registered a ten-point, ten-rebound double-double.

The IBA team opened up an 11-point lead in the first quarter and retained that lead throughout the game, despite stiff resistance from the NCAA Division 1 side’s Jacob Holt, who scored 19.

The final score, a 72-59 win for the IBA team at Cornubia Park Sports Centre.
