The Illawarra Hawks have secured the signing of former captain and veteran guard Kevin White as an injury-replacement player.
The Illawarra Hawks have secured the signing of former captain and veteran guard Kevin White as an injury-replacement player.
White, who has played 297 NBL games, spent the last two seasons at the Perth Wildcats, after previous stints with the 36ers, Hawks and Sydney Kings He is also a former captain of both Adelaide and Illawarra.
The 35-year-old comes in as cover for Daniel Grida, who has been sidelined with a hamstring injury and will miss the start of the Hungry Jack's NBL Season.
White is set to suit up for Illawarra during the Blitz in Darwin.
Illawarra Hawks General Manager of Basketball, Mat Campbell, spoke of White's impact on the current Hawks group.
"You won't find a better teammate or clubman than Kev," he told the club's website.
"His career speaks for itself, and his experience will be a welcome addition to our young and developing roster.
"Kevin's professionalism and attention to detail will complement the high standards our leadership group continues to set. We look forward to seeing him back in Hawks' colours this weekend and in the season proper."
The Hawks begin their three-game Hungry Jack's NBL Blitz campaign on Sunday evening against Melbourne United, with tip-off at 7.30pm.
