Perth Wildcats guard Jaron Rillie has undergone surgery on his hamstring and will be sidelined for the foreseeable future.

The Perth Wildcats have announced young guard Jaron Rillie has undergone surgery on a hamstring injury, with the procedure completed successfully.

Development player Rillie, who sustained the injury during Sunday's win over South East Melbourne, will continue his recovery under the supervision of the Wildcats’ medical staff, with his return to play to be determined in consultation with the medical team.

Rillie has featured in 14 games in NBL26 and become a vital piece for the Wildcats, averaging 8.1 points, 2.6 assists and 2.9 rebounds per game, while shooting at 46 per cent from the field.

The Wildcats play Illawarra on Friday night during HoopsFest, tipping off at 9.30pm AEDT (6.30pm AWST), live on ESPN.
