That’s how an uber-confident Corey Webster explained his epic three-point game winner in the Perth Wildcats’ 90-89 victory over Melbourne United.
Webster sent shockwaves through RAC Arena on Monday night, sending the Wildcats fans into pandemonium when his shot helped the club snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.
With 9 seconds left United held an 89-84 lead and seemed to have the win locked up. However, Wildcats forward Todd Blanchfield hit a three-pointer on the next possession while getting fouled, but then missed the free throw.
Blanchfield grabbed the rebound and flicked the ball to Webster who made the game-winning three in the dying seconds.

“That’s what shooters do, stay confident, you shoot the ball no matter if you’re in a rut or you’re shooting the ball well. You step up and you shoot it with confidence,” Webster said.
“Any shooter around the world would love to be in that position to try and shoot a game winner and step up and shoot with confidence.”
Perth coach John Rillie praised his team for fighting until the last second. The ‘Cats’ efforts on Monday night saw them record their third win in a row and boost their record to 8-7.
“The thing I’m most proud about tonight is that we stuck with it,” Rillie said.
“There were 12 guys that embraced that moment and made it work.
“We didn’t do that early on in the year.”
It was an equal spread for the Wildcats on Monday with multiple contributors across the board. Luke Travers made a huge impact by recording 11 points, six rebounds, five assists and three steals.
“He (Travers) doesn’t need to score to influence the game, it’s when he’s doing the deflecting, the rebounding, the pushing the ball, and then all of a sudden he makes a big three and he gets to the foul line,” Rillie said on Travers’ performance.
“LT was dynamite in the second half.”
Along with the game winner, Webster was also celebrating his 250th game.
“I’m blessed to still be playing this game and make it to 250 games in the NBL,” Webster said.
The Wildcats sit sixth on the ladder and host their old rivals, the New Zealand Breakers, on Friday at 9:30pm AEDT, after snapping the Breakers’ winning streak in New Zealand in round nine.
