Title-winning DP re-signs at Kings

Monday, August 28, 2023
Isaac Gattorna has signed a one-year deal with the Sydney Kings.
NBL23 champion and Sydney development player Isaac Gattorna will be remaining with the Kings for NBL24 after signing a one-year extension to his DP deal.
Gattorna will return to the Kings fresh off an NBL1 West championship and National Finals appearance with Geraldton after making 12 appearances in Sydney’s title-winning side of last season – including four in the post-season.
The 24-year-old is the 15th player signed to the Kings for the upcoming NBL24 season.
“From a development perspective I think Sydney has the best people in and around their system to help me achieve my own goals,” Gattorna said.
“[There’s] just a lot of experience between everyone involved and I really enjoy being around all the people too.”
Prior to joining Sydney last season Gattorna spent a season on the books of the Adelaide 36ers.
He averaged over 18 points and five rebounds per game during Geraldton’s successful NBL1 West campaign, which included a 39-point masterclass against East Perth, and a 27-point game-changing performance in a one-point victory over Willeton.
“Isaac is familiar with this organisation and all the players having been here last season,” head coach Mahmoud Abdelfattah said.
“Everyone I’ve spoken to has raved about his work ethic and how he gets the best our of everyone each time he steps onto the court.
“[He] pushes people to be the best version of themselves, which is a great asset for us to have.”
Gattorna has joined the returning Jackson Makoi and new signing Klairus Amir as development players for the upcoming season.
