REPORT: United front-runners for Tall Blacks star

Melbourne United are reportedly the front-runners to sign free agent big man Sam Waardenburg.

A day after Cairns thanked the Tall Blacks star, ESPN’s Olgun Uluc is reporting that United are nearing a deal with Waardenburg.

The talented big man was limited to just eight games in NBL26 due to injury, but still posted career-best averages in points (15.5), field goal percentage (56.6), three-point percentage (43.5) and free-throw percentage (80).

As it stands, Dean Vickerman’s side has Chris Goulding, Shea Ili, Kyle Bowen, Fabijan Krslovic and Dash Daniels under contract for the Hungry Jack’s NBL27 season.
