Friday, May 16, 2025
"DJ provides size, athleticism, and above all, the ability to score both inside and out."
Donovan ‘DJ’ Mitchell has signed a two-year deal with South East Melbourne Phoenix.
The club announced the news on Thursday, with the 28-year-old making the move from the Manchester Giants in the United Kingdom.
He previously represented the Brisbane Bullets in NBL23 and NBL24, averaging 9.6 points and 4.6 rebounds per game in his first season with the team.
The 6'8" forward holds citizenship with Australia, Ireland and the United States, which allows him to fill a local roster spot at the Phoenix.
“DJ provides size, athleticism, and above all, the ability to score both inside and out, which will be really beneficial to the squad we are building,” the club’s General Manager of Basketball Operations Simon Mitchell said.
“We look forward to welcoming DJ to the Heartland and seeing him thrive under Josh King and the coaching staff.”
💚Welcome to the Heartland, DJ!
