Phoenix Import Re-Signs

South East Melbourne Phoenix big man Alan Williams is set to remain with the club for a further two seasons, after re-signing on Tuesday.

The import has been a star for the Phoenix this season, averaging 16.6 points and 9.6 rebounds a game.

"It came down to being in a place where I can grow as a person and as a player. I love South East Melbourne Phoenix and everything that comes with being a part of this organisation," Williams told the club's website.

Williams leads the league in rebounds and registered 14 double-doubles across the regular season. 

"From the moment he landed in South East Melbourne, Alan bought into exactly what we are about at the Phoenix. We're about engaging with our  community, being an active part of the lives of the people who support us, and Alan has embraced the fans of the Phoenix as warmly as they have embraced him," Phoenix CEO Tommy Greer said.

Ahead of the team's Play-In Qualifier against the Perth Wildcats on Thursday night, Williams joins Mitch Creek and Reuben Te Rangi in committing to the Phoenix beyond this season.
