The New Zealand National Basketball League is stacked with NBL talent.

As Boomers and Tall Blacks preparations are taking place ahead of the Olympics, our NBL players in the NZNBL are holding down the fort for their teams.

Hawks favourite Dan Grida racked up an impressive 40-point tally with six rebounds and two steals for the Nelson Giants.

Ben Ayre has continued to play an impactful role down the stretch for the Wellington Saints. He scored 26 points and 10 assists, in a 26-point win over the Otago Nuggets.

Bullets big Tohi Smith-Milner was one rebound away from a double-double as he tallied 21 points and nine rebounds in the Saints' win.

Nuggets' Jack Andrew finished on ten points and eight rebounds in their 80-106 defeat to Wellington.

Illawarra's young star Lachlan Olbrich remained busy over the weekend with two double-doubles for his Canterbury Rams side. In game one he produced 14 points and 16 rebounds over Sam Froling's Taranaki Airs, while in game two he finished with 30 points and 18 rebounds against the Manawatu Jets.

Hawks big Froling scored 21 points and 14 rebounds in a loss to the Rams, while now Breakers guard Mitch McCarron tallied six points and one rebound. Carlin Davison also hit 15 points and grabbed five rebounds in the contest.
