Perth development player Jaron Rillie as been instrumental in his side's back-to-back wins.

Since the start of pre-season, the message from Perth coach John Rillie has been clear; every player is going to get an opportunity, so it's up to them to grab it with both hands.

One that has made the most of his chance on the court is development player and John's son Jaron, who is an incredible +46 in his time on court during the Hungry Jack's NBL26 season.

“We’ve harped on it all pre-season and will continue to harp on it all season: everyone’s going to get an opportunity at some point,” Jaron Rillie said to the West Australian.

“What you do with that opportunity, take advantage of it or not, it’s how you deal with the day-to-day process, and what you’re willing to put in every day. We have a lot of guys that put in the day-to-day work and are going to be ready for those opportunities.”

While the University of North Colorado alum is only averaging 3.5 points and 3 rebounds per game, the most important stat is that the Wildcats are 2-0 when the 24-year-old hits the hardwood.

Just like his father, who played 481 NBL games, Jaron is determined to keep working and impact the team in a positive way - starting from Friday's clash with the Taipans at the Cairns Convention Centre.

“Just like everyone else, there’s things I’ve still got to work on. There’s things I’m doing well, can I continue to build on those? And the small details, continue to work on those as well,” Rillie said.

Their Round 4 clash with the Snakes tips off at 7.30pm AEDT, live on ESPN.
