Perth import Dylan Windler will miss Wednesday's game with Cairns due to an ankle injury.

The Perth Wildcats will go into their Round 6 clash against Cairns with a depleted lineup, following an injury to Dylan Windler.

The former Cleveland Cavalier hurt his ankle during Sunday's clash with Sydney at Qudos Bank Arena and will not suit up during Wednesday's Ignite Cup fixture.

A club statement said Windler, who is averaging 13.7 points and 7.8 rebounds per game in NBL26, will 'continue to be assessed on a per game basis for his return to play', and he will be replaced in the squad by development player Tom Gerovich.

This news comes as John Rillie's side are already playing without one import, after releasing US guard Mason Jones last week.

Wednesday's fixture at the Cairns Convention Centre tips off at 7.30pm AEDT, live on ESPN.
