It’s been a busy few weeks for rising star Taran Armstrong, after recently being named in the Australian Boomers squad for July’s FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers.

This comes on the back of the Tasmania talent signing with his hometown JackJumpers on a multi-year deal.

Now the 24-year-old, who most recently played in the EuroLeague with Dubai Basketball, has set his sights on even more on-court achievements.

“It [playing for Australia] was definitely a big factor [in signing back in the NBL],” Armstrong said on SEN Tassie.

“It's one of those things similar to when people ask me, 'Are you trying to get back to the NBA?' There are always things in the background that you're consistently working towards, and you can't get there without living small and taking care of what you need to every single day.

“Putting on the green and gold and going to the Olympics, going to the World Cup, are definitely high on my priority list.

“But they are also things you can't spend too much time thinking about.

“Being home, being in Australia and being under the nose of the selectors were all massive factors, and I think it'll help me out in the long run.”

When he lines up for the JackJumpers during the Hungry Jack’s NBL27 Season, Armstrong will play alongside Will Magnay, Josh Bannan, Nick Marshall, Ben Ayre and Archie Woodhill.
